11.3 Send SMS
There are three ways of sending SMS in HuaYi TCM 2.0.
- Manual sending SMS either immediately or on schedule
- Automatic SMS of appointment reminder
- Bulk SMS
Three entries for manual SMS, from the menu, from the patient list and from the GSM modem configuration list.
If the GSM modem transfers the received SMS to computer, the reply of the manual SMS can be notified.
The automatic SMS is sent to a patient as the reminder an appointment. There are global settings about it.
Mobile number format:
- The number does not start with a "+" character. For example, "013807654321" or "8613807654321". The number starts with a "+" character. For example, "+8613807654321".
The mobile number from a patient:
- The mobile number is filled automatically when sending SMS from the entry of the patient list, or the patient's number can be retrieved after patient search.
The length of the SMS content:
- The length is calculated automatically when a character is entered. The text of the length information is in red when the length exceeds the limit.
Select a GSM modem to send the SMS:
- When there are multiple GSM modems, the GSM modem used to send the SMS can be selected from the drop down list. If there is only one GSM modem, it cannot be selectable.
Time to send the SMS:
- The SMS can be choosed to send immediately or on schedule.
Notification of SMS reply:
- If the GSM modem supports transferring received SMS to the computer, it can be enabled.
Helpful Hints
- There is length limit of SMS
- The limit is 70 for unicode characters, e.g. Chinese character
- The limit is 160 for ASCII letters, e.g. a, b, c, 1, 2, 3
- The limit is 70 for mixture of both unicode characters and ASCII letters
Caution
The reply notification of a specific SMS is affected by multiple received SMS. Pay attention to the notification option when reading received SMS.
