6.4 Global Settings

There are some settings for the system to work. The items of the settings look like the ones in the following screenshot.

Currency Symbol:

It is a string and it can be input manually. It is preset for Chinese version. It will set the same as the one in the Windows for other languages.

Date Format:

It is an option and it can be selected from the drop down list manually. It is preset for Chinese version. It will set the same as the one in the Windows for other languages.

Display order of first name and surname:

When displaying name, which format is used, (Firstname Surname) or (Surname Firstname)? It is an option and it can be selected from the drop down list manually. It caters for the both oriental and western custom.

Service Rate:

It is a number. The price of the service, how many currency symbol unit per hour. It is used in invoice or receipt.

GST:

It is a number, the percent times 100, for instance, 15 for 15%. The goods or service tax rate is used in invoice or receipt.

Appointment Reservation Days:

It is a number. The days for keeping the unfulfilled appointments in the database. They will be deleted automatically afterwards.

RTF Image Size:

It is a number. When importing an image into the RTF document, it will be resized for the the size of an image is large sometimes. Set the image size in pixel to save it in the database after importing and resizing it. Please select a suitable value. If too small, the image will become blur. If too big, it will waste hard disk space. The recommended value is 300 and the range is from 50 to 800.

RTF Image Quality Level:

It is a number. When importing an image into the RTF document, it will be encoded in jpeg format when saving to the database. Set the quality level to encode the image in jpeg format to save in the database after importing it. Please select a suitable value. If too small, the image will become blur. If too big, it will waste hard disk space. The recommended value is 80 and the range is from 0 to 100.

The proxy host:

If the computer accesses the internet by a proxy host, set the proxy host address, port, user name and password. Most of the computers go online directly and the settings can be ignored.

SMS:

There are some settings about mobile SMS and its relationship with the appointment.

The layout of the login window:

The default layout of the login window caters for the single user. In multiple users mode, it is traditional to put the user name above the password.

UI Language:

It is an option and it can be selected from the drop down list manually. The current supported languages are English, Simplified Chinese and Traditional Chinese. After the language is changed, the text on the menu, button，etc., will be altered. Please note that the change present after the program restart.
